About Me

My name is Michael Claman, and as of November 2021, I have opened my doors as a freelance video editor!

I mention the date, because before that, I was a content creator first, and an editor just by accident. That's right, for most of the last 6 years, I have been living in Los Angeles, primarily focused on being an actor, a writer, and a director.

I believe Quentin Tarantino once said:

"A director is just a frustrated actor, and a writer is just a frustrated director."

Well, I'm here to add that an editor is someone frustrated with all of it, and who just wants to see projects truly cross the finish line, and do so in style!

Through all my content creation - 6 short films, a web series, a video podcast, dozens and dozens of monologues, reels, and short scenes, and more - I always wound up doing my own editing! This was primarily because I either couldn't afford someone to help me out, or I couldn't find someone I trusted enough to understand my vision and make all the countless micro-decisions required to finally shape the end product.

Now I'm turning my focus to helping other creatives get their projects finished and ready to be shared. I want to be that affordable, trustworthy, I-get-your-vision-y guy for you.

Also, some good news for you:

  1. I work remotely from a secret hidden lair somewhere in the middle of Kansas... This is great, because the cost of living out here is super cheap! That translates into being able to offer my services at very competitive rates to you.

  2. In order to make sure I'm prepped to handle your content, I've recently GEARED UP! I have a new custom-built editing workstation (PC) with plenty of RAM, processing power, and all the goodies you need to handle your 4K and even 6K footage with no problem. I also double backup all my clients' files to make sure we never lose a thing. Let me handle the tech stuff, you just worry about capturing good content.

If all this is sounding good to you, drop me a line, and let's talk! I'd love to hear about your project, your needs, your adorable and/or derpy dog, and how I might be able to help you turn your vision into reality.

Cheers,

Michael
